Not sure of the type of position you were offered. Wondering what agency you are going with? I have worked Maui Memorial in the ICU three different times with three different companies. You can go with mainland companies, but can also try Kahu Malama Nurses on Oahu. I did a six month contract with them for Maui Memorial ICU.

While I was there, I did float to the ER and it is certainly not a bad gig. Pretty friendly staff, but will not find big city excitement here. Most serious cases are flown to Oahu (if they are stable enough).

The cottages behind the hospital were the "norm" for housing, but are now mostly admin offices for the hospital. If your company is not providing your housing, look for something in Kihei or Lahaina (Wailuku, where the hospital is located, is mostly kamaaina...locals).
