Need help with housing in Houston

    Hi there,
I am taking my very first travel assignment in Houston, TX. I am having problems with my agency and the housing. The apartments they are sending me are kind of far out of the city and don't look very nice. The agency's stipend is kind of low compared to the rental market in Houston. Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone traveled to Houston and found good housing through their agency. Thanks for your help.

I'm currently traveling in Houston and can't believe they can't get you an apt near the med center. There are A LOT of nice apt's near the area. The same thing with housing happened to me on my first assignment. I was in California and I drove an hour to work everyday. After talking to other travelers and how much better their housing was I went to my recuiter and complained. Since then I've always had very nice housing close to work. Don't be afraid to stand up to your recruiter and demand good close housing. They are just trying to take advantage of you being a first time traveler.

Wish I had read this sooner. I stayed at a really nice complex 3 blocks from my job when I worked for Platinum Select. They were on Hafer Rd. You can call my recruiter, Sarah, and she can tell you the name of them since I forgot. Tell her Anna gave you her name so she'll know which apts you are talking about.
