Congratulations!!! A lot of technical or community colleges have on-site child care- so you wouldn't have to put them in daycare all day, just while you are in class.
Hey, I know Im new and all but I have quite a situation and I thought all of you could help. You see I need to finish my LPN (just started) program. However I just had triplets. I really really dont want to put them in daycare, but I DESPERATLEY want to finish all the way. I know online programs arent the BEST way to do nursing. But...is ther ANY, ANYYY online LPN Programs ladies? I really need some help...

Is it an option for their father to arrange his schedule so he can be with them while you are at school? Or another relative? Some of the LPN programs in my area have evening and weekend clinicals. Hope you can work things out. I didn't have triplets but went through my ADN program with a 1, 2 & 3 year old but had a great sitter who was like family and my husband had a good job so I was pretty lucky..I had that sitter from the time the oldest was 3 months old and the last she "watched them" the oldest was 13 and she even watched my bonus child (born 12 years after the last) once when my husband and I both had to be someplace.
hahahaha... I love it... "Bonus Child" LOL!
Hi there,
Wow! Triplets AND nursing school. Geez, too bad you can't get school credit for both. I agree with the other recommendations; onsite childcare at school and/or dad/other family member taking care of the babies while you're doing school. If those options aren't fully dependable, consider looking into Excelsior University. It's an RN program but you may have satisfied a lot of the prerequisites. I went through the program myself and found it to be very workable while raising young kids and earning income. If that isn't an option for you and childcare proves to be too difficult to work out completely or evening classes aren't available, you may have to take some time off. That may seem like giving in or copping out but it really isn't. You have three newborns at once and it may just be that your job is to be an at home mom for awhile. If that's the case, consider it a blessing and enjoy this time. Nursing school will always be there and your babies will grow up -too fast actually, and be off at school. This is when you get to be in class too.
As a side bar, I can't imagine what having three newborns in childcare at the same time would cost- if you could even get one place with three openings at once. When our kids were daycare aged, we had a period when we had to use two centers because there weren't all of the openings we needed at one place. It was a brief period of sheer madness. We changed our work schedules and I went part time so there was a parent home all the time. That was me and I have no regrets whatsoever. We have three kids about two years apart in age and they're mostly grown now. Good luck Parker Girl. It may be different than you want or feel it should be but, your situation will work out. This is your life- enjoy it.
