Got up early this morning and had cozy breakfast on the deck with my wife. Weather is spectacular again today.

The only thing wrong in my little world is the newspaper. I'm really so tired of the daily bolus of tragedy. Here is a synopsis of today's front page headlines-local news: Gang members arrested, child porn/child molested(2 stories),3 arrested after attempting to steal drugs from pharmacy, body recovered in the water, father charged with slapping 3 yr. old son while retreating to car after robbing convenience store( not kidding), liquor license suspended for establishment displaying gang colors. Get my point? I don't live in south central LA. And I won't even mention the national news.

Yeah, I know that drama is what sells in the media but let's get an accurate perspective. Wouldn't it be better if there was at least one positive article written for each negative? Realistically there could be more than one, but we wouldn't want circulation to drop off because the gore and horror junkies became disenchanted although I very much implicate the media and entertainment industry for contributing to the rise in violent behavior Okay, I'm done now.

Let's see, where was I? Oh yeah, the headlines back in my little world: I have some ripe tomatoes and the eggplant is coming along. The carrots never did anything and the ground hog finished off the squash and lettuce but the slugs got there first. Video at eleven.

Mornin', all! I finally crawled outta bed.

You forgot somethin', Ricu: Ted Kennedy is gone. And what the heck! Stores are gonna be unable to sell ANYthing, as gangs use all sorts of colors anymore.

We got tomatoes this year. Need to put in a garden, but are still trying to figure out where. It is drizzling here, on and off. Have you tried radishes or cucumbers at all?

In regards to the cat in yesterday's post....we don't own cats. Other half would be in technicolor. Yet, good old Milton (my avatar cat) will NOT set other half off. We don't know why.

Time for coffee.....

Hi Cat,

Right, so long, Teddie. We have two cats, one is a Maine Coon and looks a little like the one in your pic last night. Too bad about your other half, would he like to have a cat? I did plant cucumbers and they have done really well. Didn't plant radishes but they would be good.

Going for a dip in the pool now and then off on the afternoon work shuttle.

CYA later,

R

NO CATS! Other half would be useless from sneezing, wheezing, and other assorted things I don't care to think about outside of work. The dog is enough, thankyouverymuch!

Hi HO HI Ho

It's back to work I go - Just got back from vacation and there's a pile on my desk - client's to see - state officilas to appease - what happened to the post vacation glow I had when I woke up this am?

The Steely Dan Festival was great - now it's back to reality!

PS the garden is really going strong - Tomatoes, Tomatillos, pumpkins, peppers - The birds got most of my grapes this year - and I've got a ton of avocado's - I also have a funny story to tell about my new hydroponic experiment but that will have to wait for now.

Peace and Namaste

Hppy

Well, I am home, at last and finally! One more day, then I am off Friday (at least....).

Hopefully the full picture of Milton will appear. Only cat I can deal with.

Re: Wednesday, August 26, 2009

This is Milton's story, per one of his owners, who is a retired (or is that tired?) nurse: He is the runt of the litter, Himalayan (spelling?), and one UGLY cat. His nose is pushed in some, and as you can see, has a snaggle tooth. Actually, UGLY is pronounce OOOOgly. He will actually come up and 'tell me off'' if I don't drop by often enough to his liking

No, haven't seen the show, yet. I am very behind in watching things. I need to correct that very soon. When, I am not too sure.

BTW, said owner of cat will be going through chemo, as she just had a left mastectomy. Please keep her in your prayers, as she is the best person you could ever meet,
