Can you believe it's Thursday already? Tomorrow is the official start of Summer, as well as being Friday. *Sigh* I swear the year is starting to fly by.

So, what's up? Anything in particular?

I guess I'm on first today. I woke up earlier then I wanted to took the dog for a walk now just checking things out then have to sort out the Avon and deliver it. I go back to work tomorrow for 4 days in a row....got into it with a MD the last day I worked....baseline he's an ass and I'm not LOL. We had a tubal scheduled for 1200 (they always schedule these things at lunch time) well we run on a minimum staff anyway heaven forbid we have extra staff. Well he comes running up on the unit at 11:45 and says go get my patient I'm ready (CRNA was there waiting for 1200) I told him sorry there's nobody to go get your patient I'm taking care of this labor patient the others went to lunch and the nurses on post partum went to lunch also except for 1 (this makes 4 people at lunch and we had 1 labor and 5 post partum) well he has a big fit says he'll watch the monitor on the labor pt and I can get her and I tell him no then when his pt goes into OR and I have to circulate then who takes the labor pt. He says he doesn't care just get his pt. I just picked up the phone and called the supervisor and asked her to come back..she comes and I explain things to her so she goes and gets the patient...by then the nurse scheduled to circulate gets back and it's now 11:50. Mr get the last word in sticks his head out the door (by the scrub sinks) and says this conversation is over. I say yea I bet it is....then he sticks it out again and says who's job is it to call the doctor when things change? NOTHING CHANGED DING DONG YOU"RE THE ONE WHO WANTED TO GO EARLY and just wanted us to jump!!!! Then later in the day he has a pt on post partum who has a reaction to antibiotics and can't breathe so I got the crash cart and called the rapid response team and the nurse taking care of her calls the office and he's "out for the day" so she tells the MD on call and gets orders...everything is fine but then HE shows up again and is mad that he wasn't called HELLO you're not on call and your office says you're out.... you can't win with this guy (he's been around a couple of years fresh out of school) if you call and he's not on then he's mad unless it's "certain" patients then if you don't he's mad...his neck turns all red and steam comes out of his ears LOL
The CRNA was laughing and said "he's going to straighten you out yet" I said "I haven't been striaghtend out for 45 years my mom and dad couldn't do it so 5 minutes with him won't do it either"
