| Surgery helps to re-build the bone structure below the gums Some people may lose or damage parts of the body in an accident. There are a number of natural and synthetic substances that can be used to replace body tissues, organs and bones. One part of the body may be used to replace another damaged or diseased part in the same body. Whenever there is loss of bone or organ from any part of the body, surgically, we can replace one for another. In an autograft, one part of the body is replaced for another within the same body. But in an allograft, one part may be replaced or repaired with another part from a different source. Last edited by Ronalde15; 02-06-2008 at 10:42 PM. |
