A rainy Friday August 24th, 2007

Forcast is calling for even more rain today...like we didn't get enough yesterday afternoon. Seems like Midnight and 4 am sends another storm, also....regularly! When I head out later, I am checking one of the local rivers. That will be interesting.

Hey, dogluvr. Don't overtax yourself. Cass....I am sure 'the higher ups' notice the FMLA, etc. Sometimes hands are tied. Trust me; I have learned that in the past few months.

Here's hoping to a slightly better day. Why? It's Friday!

Re: A rainy Friday August 24th, 2007

I got called off today (at least 7-3) I'd asked for it anyway I'll still have 12 hours overtime this week without today...too old for that cr..

I wish we'd get some of that rain the rest of the country is getting we haven't had any for weeks. Our high will only be 100 today but will feel like 105+ they called off a couple of local schools because the air went out (we didn't even have air when I was in grade school here we had windows and fans and they'd shut the lights off)...I also had to walk up hill to get there

My plans for today are...take a nap if I don't have to go in at 3 I think we're going to go to the pound and look at a dog. They have an 11 month old puggle that's already fixed. I've thought about a 2 month old puppy but they it has to be totally trained so if this one isn't CRAZY we might get it. I think my 8 year old needs a "friend". He keeps asking for a baby brother or sister and gets mad when I tell him nope not going to do that he already has brothers and sisters but poor guy they are all over 21 and don't live with us (thank goodness). Going to have to stick with the puppy idea....don't know that I really need that either that's like having another kid

Cass...'only' 100 degrees? Geez, I think we went to the same school at one time. We never had AC, either, but now the schools all have it; in fact, individual roof units!

It quit raining here so far. Some more clouds, etc. due here sometime tonight.

Hope you have a great weekend, dogluvr! Me...have my feet up, cuppa coffee in front of me... I am on church cleaning detail this month, and tomorrow is the designated day this week. So, will have one thing to do. I think I can get some 'sleep in time' then. Sunday is a given.

Drop by if/when you can. Of course, study!

LOL, ya'll are funny griping about 105 degrees. Try living in heat index in the 130 degree range. BTW, can someone please explain this word... rain? What is that? I know what sandstorms are but they are not wet.

Please, be thankful for what you have in the U.S.A.

Rain: akin to water. In the context I'd been mentioning, we've had up to 5+ inches north of here. Down in some states, like OK, TX, OH...floods. We've got that, too. Oh, there are heat indeces, also, but of course, NOT like 'the sand box'.
