Oops! TODAY is Friday, May 4th, 2007!

Geez! I must have been thinking about today being payday, and typed in the wrong date yesterday.

Hope you all have a great day today. Cassioo, that stinks, having a partial weekend. When I worked 11-7's, my shifts went Sunday through Thursday night, and I 'technically' had Friday and Saturday nights off. Quite often, I'd be up for over 24 hours Friday day. THAT was a riot!

Anyhow, hope a few of you drop by the thread and leave a messege.

Hi Cougarnurse. I had the same situation. I'd work Friday 6pm to 6am and would have Saturday and Sunday off. It took all of Saturday to recover. Then I'd have a "regular" day off on Sunday but then turn around and work Monday 6pm to 6am.

Night shifts are REALLY hard on your system and your social life. I can't imagine how nurses with spouses and children do it.

I actually like working nights but I certainly don't like what it does to the rest of your life.

This is really my weekend to work but I was needed more during the week this week so got off Saturday....I do prefer to work all of my days together and then be off for longer streches...we had a pretty good day today just steady then at 5:50 the scrub tech yelled down the back hall that myself and another RN were needed in a certain room it was our "resident" patient who had been there for 2 months (who finally had a c-section scheduled for Monday) she'd started pouring out blood...between the 3 RN's LPN, secretary and 2 CST's we through an IV and Foley in, got 2 OB's and anesthesia there (from home) and had a healthy baby and mom by 6:10 YIPPY. See OB nurses don't jst sit around

I like the every other weekend bit; know of places that give you every 3rd off, and it stinks.

Well, it's late, and I am gonna sign off for the time being. Ya'll take care, ok?
