I know, I know, duh, nobody likes them, but I mean, this is one thing that man could have just left alone. Some $#@*#@ had to screw it up for everyone and now there are tons of them. I just want to thank them, for adding one more thing for me to worry about.

What kind of viruses are out there? Well, lets see, you have your weak little ones that just play tricks on you. You have the ones that erase all of your files that you've saved, not too big a deal. Then you have the worm ones that get into your email and your computer and send the virus to all email addresses in your computer all while saving all of your information, ie. credit cards, address, cookies, etc into a file and sending them back to the maker of the virus. Not a good one there. And then you have the really bad ones that will completely destroy your hard drive, hence, you no longer own a computer.

I'm venting because I got a virus a couple of days ago and had to take my computer in to the shop to get it fixed. Fortunately it wasn't a bad one but my stupid system (windows ME) kept backing up the virus so it would never get totally deleted.

Anyway, you have to wonder how the companies like Norton and McCaffe feel about these viruses. Without them, they don't stay in business. I'm not saying they are to blame, though.

Anyone else ever get a virus on their computer? The worst on I had was that worm virus that was really spreading several months ago. I ended up having to completely reformat my hard drive and lost all of my programs and data.

If you don't have a good virus scanner, you should get one. and update your virus definitions every day if you can.
