| LPN to RN/school LPN for 30 years. I must work to provide for my young son at home. I know it's "late", but would like to know if anyone can give me feedback on any home study or online programs to obtain RN. After working in 9 different states over my lifetime, loving my job & the states I worked in in the past treated me like a "NURSE"...the state I'm in now treats LPN's as if we are absent minded with little intellect. (but the Doc I work with sure doesn't!). What's the real clincher...I received MORE clinical training in my LPN program than the local college BSN's do in their 4 years. I have nothing against RN, AD or BSN...but so many here where I live have been taught they are "above the rest" because they have their BS. I know...I went to the college here (BSN program) and during a lecture we were told, "you aides, LPN's and AD's can someday become a nurse". Funny, I took NLN's and boards in 1975. I thought I WAS a nurse. Anyhow...anyone have any good input into home/online study? Thank you,C. |

| Re: LPN to RN/school I just looked this up and found some great information at College Network. One program in Indiana was mentioned in which an LPN can do all coursework online. That is the only way to go if you have young child at home. |
