    What after BSN?

Okay, here's a little something I would like to throw out to the more experienced folks that read this board. I'm currently in an RN program. I'll have my RN certification done next year and will have a BSN a year after that. I've always thought that I would like to give grad school a shot, but I never realized there are SO MANY OPTIONS!!!! (Not that this is a bad thing.) I'm kind of interested in anesthetist programs, but there aren't any even remotely close to where I live. There is a psychiatric NP school and a family NP school nearby, but I'm not really sure I would enjoy that as much as I would just being an RN. Any advice from someone whose been there? I just don't know if I should call it good at BSN or invest a couple more years to become a practitioner. Any NP's out there want to give their pro's/con's?

    Re: What after BSN?

I'm just the lowely BSN nurse and happy with that. I took a few MSN classes but in the long run what would I do with it??? my answer nothing. I'm happy as a staff nurse I don't want management and don't want NP. At one point I thought midwife but really am fine where I'm at... It's all what do you want. I don' tthink working a few years is a bad idea to see how nursing is and if you want something different.

I have over a 120 credits, most non nursing classes. But, got my RN in a diploma program. Could have gone back for my BS degree, but I do not want to be management. I make the same as a BS degree grad. I am happy as a clam till retirement time.
