Re: Herbs vs Medicine or are they the same?

Julie, the LTC mention on the Herb vs. Medicine page, made me remember when I was working LTC and one of my pts loved herbs and would soak spearmint gum in her tea for flavor, so I brought her in some spearmint from my garden for her to use. She used it in the milk , and tea,and wanted more. So I brought her some home grown sage, and peppermint and garlic buds. Well the news spread around the home about the garlic, and many pts were asking me for some, They hid it in the dresser drawers and cherished it. They probably were all on bland diets, The garlic spread like wildfire around the home. Well my sister was a nurse on dayshift there and she found out I was the one sneaking the garlic in for everyone, She lay the law down and if I did not label and date it,she was going to throw it out. She even went so far as to call my herbs "Weeds". Can you believe that? Well thanks for letting me share the memory. Judyd

Judyd, please seek a physician. We are unable to give you medical advice on this website. hehe

I'd just say drink lots of water. That usually helps me.

Re: Herbs vs Medicine or are they the same?

I drank 1 quart of water in 30 minutes three times the day before yesterday. It sure helped me wee wee. Hate to think how sick I would have been if I had not drank the water.
Thanks for the reply. I HAVE to go. You guess where.

I give up today. My herbs and water have let me down. I will call for a Dr. appt. Medicine now will have its chance.

If all else fails, see a doctor.

Amoxacillin it is. I remember in the old days you could get a simple antibiotic without an exray. Still trying to understand how more is better.
