Hello Everyone...

My name is Karla, i'm 33. I was a surgical tech for over 7 yrs... then decided to go to nursing school... Best thing I ever did. I loved my job in the OR, but wanted to dedicate a little more time to my son... he's 3. (he was my big surprise during nursing school)... so I decided to try Home Care... I just started my job as a visiting nurse. So far I love it... it's all new to me. As i'm sure most of you know... OR nursing is completely different. I'm finding that i've lost a lot of my skills and my ability do write nursing notes, or do find the right words to describe a wound on my charting...

Anyway... i'm kind of ashamed to say this... but I really need help with my note writting, and assessment skills. It makes me so nervous sometimes to go into someones house and do the whole body assessment, and play is calm and cool, so that the patient doesn't think that i'm new... LOL... .

if anyone out there can undestand me... and maybe help out... or guide me to the right place where I can find help.... i'd really appreciate it.

I recently went out and purchased "assessment for dummies..." lol...
