Good Luck MagRedC5!

MagRed: My heart, prayers, and spirit are with you as you embark on your tour of duty in Iraq. Your courage and devotion to your fellow human beings couldn't be manifested in a more altruistic and selfless manner. God bless you!

Re: Good Luck MagRedC5!

Maddie, your words mean a lot to me & deeply appreciate the gesture.

Please, pray for strength... for my wife, rather than for me. My wife is having a very hard time with the thought of me being gone for +12 months.

God bless our troops & their family members.

Re: Good Luck MagRedC5!

MagRed: Once again, your selflessness shows. I am behind our troops 100%; as a matter of fact, I tried to join but, crikey! I'm too "old!" Every night I light a candle and say a prayer for all our troops and you and your wife will be in my thoughts until your safe return. Hope you'll be able to drop a line once in a while and let us know how you're doing. Group hug!

Hey MagRedc5, when do you leave? Good luck and may God watch over you. How do you sleep with loud trucks driving by? I almost joined but they couldn't offer me retirement or my current salary. In one more year I will be too old.

My wife & I live in the residential area [on-post housing], so loud trucks are not an issue. However, helicopters, planes, and practice artillery fire can be heard from off in the distance. Yet, all that is music to my ears.

I leave this Sunday for Ft Bliss, TX and after 10-30 days I'll fly to Iraq for +12 month deployment. Anticipated return is April 2008.

I realize some folks may not support my Commander-in-Chief, but it is great how well the general public supports the troops, and their family members.

Thank you for the kind words.

Re: Good Luck MagRedC5!

Update;

I arrived in Kuwait yesterday [Sunday] and it is really, really sandy here. In fact, in the afternoon the sky was gray D/T a little [sarcasm here] sandstorm.

I can't really give any further details D/T OPSEC, but I'm doing fine. I can say I'll be in Kuwait only until the end of this week. Then, off to somewhere in Iraq. When I get settled with a permanent APO I'll let ya'll know.

BTW, at this time my internet access is limited.

Later...
