| Ghost Stories Anyone have any good nursing ghost stories? I don't have any but I know there must be some out there. The only supersticious thing we have on our unit is the "osler fly." They say if you see the osler fly buzzing around, someone is going to die rather quickly. |

| Re: Ghost Stories Supposedly there's a ghost on 4th floor of our hospital, but I've never seen or heard anything. One of our hospital supervisors says that she was walking down a hallway when a cold, weird feeling sort of wooshed through her and she had a feeling that the person in the room just below her died. Sure enough, they had, and she insists she felt the soul leave the building. Weird!

| Re: Ghost Stories not really a ghost but someone thought it was: I worked ortho/neuro and the man in the room right across from the nurses station was in a coma. His 2 BIG sisters were sitting by his bed. The bed had some catch in electronic controls. The head of the bed suddenly sat up and the sistas came running out of the room screaming ![]()

| Re: Ghost Stories In the ER I used to work in, one of our trauma rooms was haunted. When the room was empty, we kept the curtain over the door closed, and one night when it was really quiet, the curtain started swinging back & forth, like a little kid was playing with it- there is no air vent near the curtain, so it couldn't have been anything like that, but we went to open the curtain, and on the monitor in the room, the O2 sat was 100%, with a perfect pleth wave, but the probe was dangling from a hook on the wall, swinging back & forth. Also, on another night, in the same trauma room, the monitor started alarming out of nowhere- in the room, the monitor showed a third-degree block, but there was no patient in the room, the leads were just hanging there. A few days before, we had had a patient in that room die- he had been in thrid degree block when he got to the ER- Creepy!!! |

| Im an LVN. And was doing homecare at the time of my ghost story. This is my first and hopefully only ghost. This happened to me last year in Aug of 2006. I was doing homecare for a terminally ill patient- not immenet however-through a registry for a company. This was my seconed night shift with him. I hadnt done nights in a while and was sleepy and found myself dozeing off for a few minutes at a time intermetinally this seconed night at about after midnight. I had just started dateing someone very seriously, and he moved into my house after about 3 months of us dateing ( whom Im now married to). Anyway- my patient began to decline rapidly and peacefully- CHF I believe. He had been talking jibberish all of a sudden- while in like a wakeing sleep state, and this had gone on for hours- when I had fallen asleep while charting at a desk next to him at about 2am. I woke up suddenly- because his respirations had changed to being a different noise from what they had been and his constant jibberish talking-to nothing but a different type of breathing - I awoke to see someone in the corner next to his oxygen tank in the room. It looked just like my now husband who was my boyfriend at the time. It was vivad. It looked like my husband- just looking at me. I got scared out of my skin, rubbed my eyes, checked on my patient, and had awoken fully and he was gone, but I still felt something there for hours afterward. Shortly thereafter my patient died suddenly- even though he was talking, and eating and had good vitals. Just all of a sudden. I swear it was my boyfriend at the time, but it might have been his dad who looked very much like my husband/ boyfriend at an earlier age and who had allready passed and who was very close to my husband all his life. I dunno?>?????? |
