| Administrator | Friday, April 18th, 2008....Earthquake! Good morning, everyone! I know I'm up early...just couldn't sleep. Then, at about 4:30 am, our 'critters' started acting strange. Took forever to get them to settle down. Here, we had an earthquake (5.4) waaaay south of us. Cassio, were you affected any? 'Cat' |

Heck, there was a quake that hit Central IL in '04. Various fault lines all over, but not like the NM.... |

| Re: Friday, April 18th, 2008....Earthquake! Yes gosh darn it that earthquake woke me this morning at 4:30 (central time) so I called work and hoped to get off today because I'd stayed up too late and set the alarm a little late for 5:15 and knew I couldn't go back to sleep for 45 minutes but had to go to work. I didn't feel the one later I was walking around at work but the ones sitting down felt it. The center was about 50 miles from us it didn't shake anything off my shelves just got me up early ![]()

| I was at work when this quake was felt-in Fort Wayne, IN!! My unit is on the 4th floor, and I was leaning against a wall when I first felt it. The other nurses' I was talking to and I all looked at each other and then one said "Did you feel that? What was it?" I said "It had to be an earthquake. We aren't that far from the new Madrid fault line." Lasted about 30 sec, we saw equipment swaying and many patients woke up asking what was going on. Folks all over the city felt it. Felt several aftershocks too. It was pretty wild! All this talk about California and the big one will probably be here in the Midwest!! |
