POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The surgical services nurse is a member of the surgical team and provides support to the surgeon, registered nurses, certified surgical techs and CRNA in the operating room. Responsibility includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of perceived/actual or potential physical or psychosocial problems that may result from the intrusion of anesthesia agents, techniques and surgical procedures. The environment includes but is not limited to PACU, Ambulatory, Endoscopy, circulating within the OR and call.
