| Worst Hospital In Texas My wife is a traveling nurse and we are currently on assignment in Tyler, TX at East Texas Medical Center. There are so many things wrong with this a assignment I do not know where to begin. In the interview my wife was told that she would be taking care peds.; this was just one of man lies they told. She has ended up taking care of bariatric patients with a ratio of 8 to 1 on the average. She was originally told there ratio was about 4 to 1. She was also told she would not be a charge nurse so she did not negotiate a charge rate; yet again another lie. According to the nurses there have been more than 16 nurses that have quit in the last 4 months. There are some serious managment issues as well. They endanger patients as well as puting nursing licences in danger. DO NOT TAKE THIS ASSIGNMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! |

| Super Moderator | Re: Worst Hospital In Texas Does sound like the sold a bill of goods (and a bridge) with that assignment. I'd stay away, far - far away, from the recruiter/agency that sent you on that assignment. You can write a review of the hospital, and travel agency that others will be able to base their decision on by going here: http://forums.ultimatenurse.com/revi...cat/64/page/11 Hope you're both out of there soon! | Re: Worst Hospital In Texas It was not the agency that did it. During the interview with the hospital they told my wife all about the position. It sounded great. My grandmother has cancer and this was close to home. So we took it. Only to find out after my wife started working the floor. Our agency said we could get out of the contract but we needed to stay in the area. Our agency has found us a new position at Children's in Dallas that will keep us close to home. My wife has been there when she was a staff nurse and loves the hospital. She is actually going to work in the float pool which is a travel nurses. |

| Junior Member | Re: Worst Hospital In Texas I'm glad to see a nursing website allowing the posting of negative comments regarding healthcare authorities.. I've been trying to publish the unfair and destructive actions of the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, stemming from multiple incidents involving the indifferent destruction of careers and families by said board, for several years. God Bless. |
