Wink Wish me luck :)

Okay..been a bit of a bummer week for me, and either my paxil in on high gear or I am just too tired to be upset! LOL!!!!!!!!

So day before yesterday...my car was in the hospital parking lot under lights and it got broken into! Lucky no damage to the car (obviously used a jimmy), and it looks like they ransacked but something disturbed them and nothing was taken (except for a remote control truck that I was taking to the goodwill donation site...too bad they left the huge bag of clothes, would have saved me a trip! LOL!). No biggie...reported it to security and police and was an hour late getting home...oh well.

Then it snowed and froze! My area of Oregon is NOT use to that and the entire area just STOPS! LOL! Well I needed gas for my car (they didn't expect the snow to stick let alone freeze!), and took off for the gas station. All was well...no slips or slides...until I hit the gas station parking lot...slide and BOOM...right into a telephone pole! I was great at doing all you are supose to do, turn into the slide and such and was able to get enough traction in the last second that I turned enough to get the passenger front side nailed instead of dead on! I was just fine...I braced for impact...I knew I was going to hit anyway. Pole..not even a scratch...my car...well, dented the passenger side, lights crushed...oh well, could have been WORSE (and we can actually pull out the dents! YEAH!).

I called into work, really hoping not to have to go in..heck I wasn't driving in this now! (I was able to drive home without probelms! WHEW), but noooo they got me a ride! Oh well...I need the money really bad now..LOL! Work was chaos, I had two psycho agressive meth addict patients who wanted to kill anyone that talked to them and their MD's held all meds (nice..thanks DOC!), a brand new colostomy pt with complications, two painful terminal cancer patient that are full code and very needy, and a fresh complicated spinal post op that wasn't comming out of aneth well! OH CALGON! Oh did I mention no CNA's (couldn't make it in due to ice), and one nurse shy! UHGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!

So here I am exausted mentally and physically...and I hear of a shift opening up that I want very badly! A day shift for the floor I wanted to work in when I applied, but they didn't have an opening! WHOOOOO HOOOOO! I put in my transfer right then and there, and called the RN supervisor for that floor who I really like...and she was so excited I applied...sounds like I will get the job if someone doesnt' outrank me!

So I am so excited...however, hello...look at the luck I had for the past 48 hours!!!! That luck is scaring me! LOL!

So wish me luck guys...need to get the bad luck out of the system so I can get this job! LOL!!!!!!!!!

I'm wishing lots of good luck on you! After reading your blog however, I may not apply for any positions anytime soon...

Unfortunately, illness knows no holiday. If we we bad enough to be in a hospital.....well....

Triage, I am so sorry things happened the way they did. We got snowed in at my facility, and there were a few of us who were there for 40 hours straight. Got laundry service, a bed....and warm blankies. All I needed.

Re: Wish me luck :)

The floor that I wanted doesn't have the probelms that the one I am working on has! Thank GOD! Nice teamworking folks...and the reason I applied in the first place...sadly they didn't have a position when I applied..but now..they do, and I soooooo signed up...a better move for me all around, and I will enjoy myself without fear of write ups!

BTW..the write ups...have stopped! LOL, I got them so lost in charting they couldn't write me up anymore because I explained things in detail and CYA that anything would be covered! LOL!...Yeah, I am good at that...proving my point and covering myself against naggy nurses! LOL!

Thanks so much for the wish...huggles
