Who uses tanning beds?

I never have, but know quite a few people who do. Sure hope they read this article: Study: Tanning beds do cause cancer

Re: Who uses tanning beds?

In more ways than one, I guess. Personally, I think the tans look fake.

Re: Who uses tanning beds?

I have only worked with a few women who have tanned on a tanning bed. At first they would say they were being careful and for people to stop worrying about them, then later you talk to them and actualy read the reports and they stop. One woman had a doctor boyfriend and he probably talked her out of going to the salon.

I don't use a tanning bed. It amazes me how many of my co-workers do on a regular basis.

I've just never seen the rationale that darker skin is worth dying for

Supposedly 8 out of 10 people suffer from hemorrhoids. Does that mean that the other 2 people enjoy them???

I am convinced that certain college courses were invented to drive me to insanity. Luckily, it would be a short trip.

Cool Re: Who uses tanning beds?

I used one once to see what it was like. I was not impressed with the result and haven't done it again. My daughter does this occasionally. I think she should just take her butt outside in the sun once in a while.

Re: Who uses tanning beds?

I do on occasion. If we're going on vacation to the beach or the lake or if we are having pictures taken or something.

I don't think it looks fake at all unless you overdo it. It's just like getting exposure to the sun so I don't think there's a difference in that regard.

I know it's not good for you. Anytime you're exposing your skin to UV rays it's not good.

Re: Who uses tanning beds?

I just undress and lay in the back yard or go to the beach or resort. I like it all naturel. Put my shorts on and the wife and I stroll around the neighborhood. But tanning beds no no no way. Ive heard of the putting cams in those places. Gross.

Re: Who uses tanning beds?

I agree with you, Tom, that 'natural' light is better.

Mind you, I may be dating myself here, but my mom's clothes dryer had one of those 'blue' lights in it that simulated sunlight (esp. good during winter). Mind you, that's a CLOTHES drier, though. Tanning beds are waaaaay too intense, thankyouverymuch!
