Absolutely,, 1mg.epi.. Many patients are in the hospital before they are even cultured. Some hospitals are not isolating for MRSA any more... Those who have it have already infected the community as you say... Look closely at a shopping cart..

Also, as an aside there is some thinking and research that we are losing our immune system because we aren't challenging it.. The T-cells need a work out just as our muscle do.. Use it or lose it..

Are you saying the patient got MRSA in the hospital or came in with it..Where do you suppose his wife went to the bathroom at home????

I have herd that using the home anti-biotic soaps have decreased some normal flora. And as you say the t-cells are not getting the work out due to our anti-microb world.

I have had a few patients with MRSA that had NO hospital contact.

The patient had NO contact with the hospital or any one that was in the hospital. His wound culture was done in a DR's office.
