What's your most disgusting, yucky, true, nursing incident?

What's the worst, most nasty, horrible, yucky, disgusting thing you've encountered since you've been a nurse?

Re: What's your most disgusting, yucky, true, nursing incident?

While walking through a close custody housing unit one day, all the inmates were standing at the windows of their cell doors, hollering lewd remarks. I was used to that. I also knew if I approached certain doors I could expect a little more than a lewd remark. Hopefully no one would claim to be sick this morning and need for me to come close to their window. As luck would have it though, one inmate did call me over. Approaching cautiously with my inattentive officer at my back, I noticed another inmate next door, one foot on his toilet, the other stuck against the door like spiderman. In his hand was.....you guessed it..... as he spewed the thing all over his window shouting...Mrs.xxxx, look what I got for you!!!!.....Inmates, you just can't beat em'......

I had a patient on a 3way foley with irrigation...well we had to manually irrigate from time to time...well sometimes the pressure would be too much that the irrigating plungerwould dislodge from the foley..well to make a long story short during one of those irrigation episodes..the plunger dislodged spraying pee and normal saline on my uniform and face..and also getting the fellow nurse at my side yyuuuuck
