What do you think? I have heard many nurses say that the pay is great, then I have also heard many nurses say that they are not getting paid enough. Whats your opinion? If its not getting paid enough, then what do you think that nurses should be paid, per hour? Thanks

Re: What do you think? I don't think you can put a price on what we do, but since not having a price won't pay the bills....I'd say.........hell, I have NO IDEA!!!! Isn't that sad? Maybe somewhere between $35 and $40 an hour????

Re: What do you think? HI all I'm back from vacation and putting in my 2 cents worth again. I think nurses are pretty well paid but not paid near what we're worth. Same with teachers (my dad was a teacher over 30 years) I worked in a factory for 9 years before nursing school. When I got out of school I went to work making the same as if I'd still been at the factory. My ex-husband still works at the same factory and he doesn't make what I make now but he makes more then what a new nurse would for a couple of years. His responsibility make sure machines run so parts can be made to make freezers. Nobody dies if the freezer isn't made on time. Nurse...well we know what a nurse has to do Actor, ball player...millions of $$$$ to do their thing. In my opinion WAY over paid in theirs way under paid how do they get those big contracts..by saying they won't put on the show next year without the big raise. I got a letter a few weeks ago...all the nurses at my hospital get 50 cents more per hours starting in Sept wooo hooo. So now that I'm "topped out" that might raise the top out so I won't be on top anymore so I"ll have to work longer to top out again and then get the lump sum bonus you get for being topped out. Here's another one along similar lines...why do hospitals pay those big sign on bonuses for new nurses and what do us old dogs get to stay around...not much we keep hanging out. (there wasn't a bonus when I started) Now aren't you all glad I'm back from vacation ![]()
