What about women nurses

I had to think a subject line to attract people to the post
I am wanting to get in a profession which is 95% female. My A&P class there was only about for guys and in my Microbiology there was me and another guy. From what I can tell most of the women in the classes were married or had boyfriends. I know the further I progress in school going to have to get used to the ratios--poor baby
I am single. There is one thing I always have on my mind, ahh two things, one is meeting women. I would like to hear from a cross section. You get to have a lot of female friends of vairous types, or are you stick in the corner case your the only guy in the section.

Look for the girlfriends outside of class & work and in class & work look for support persons & co-workers. Associate yourself with people that study/work hard (doesn't that sound like something mother said? you are what your friends are too)

Hi. I am Joe. I am in Colorado. I am 43 single.

I started doing mine <dreadlocks> was sleeping in my car in boulder colorado, got out the shower from the university of colorado enginnering building. I looked at the mirror was not going to comb my hair. That was june of 2002.

I have not worked for while doing anything. I have not had a job for a while. I have been going to school, not a job a part time job to support myself.

I am not holding my breath of getting on there. I am applying for some nursing schools with my unexpected lower gpa. Need to push a 4.0 for the next two sesmesters, I am thinking might be a little to late.

Some work ethic here. I want to know how a 43 year old guy can hang around in Colorado for three years going to school, without a job and still not have the GPA to even think about getting accepted to a nursing program?

Hey Joe, you still living in your car? I'll bet that impresses the hell out of the college girls.

Re: What about women nurses

Joe,
I'm confused are you taking nursing to improve yourself and help others or are you there to pick-up girls ?

I think it is safe to say that once you are graduated and working, there are plenty of opportunities for dating, meeting compatible people.

I would not, hit on my classmates or nurses I worked with. You really don't want to go there.

damn joE!

i think this thing is normal, i myself choose to be stuck in the corner and when it comes to breaks and end of class ill be the first one to jump out of the classroom. i couldn't ease the uncomfort i bear sitting in the chair not talking to anyone. i am a silent person but annoyed of silence, i wanted to talk but mostly what i hear is "my daughter, my baby boy, my son, my husband, my dog, how old is she, bla...bla...bla", and to think some of them are 18 years old. im sooo-not used to that, my mentality relies on more awareness of consequences in ones life. see, i really don't understand why these girls have babies, the young ones. love? and marriage? ah, sillly! it takes time to know oneself, envision the future, reflecting what you really want on your partner and visualizing a steady life and being ready to be a teacher of integrity to your kids. you cant do that while young, it takes time, proof to this divorce rate soooo high, and i believe this is he cause of dumb actions. im 22 and single, its kinda hard in my part being in an all boy school in highschool and left me hurdle skills like women skills and still i am in process of learning. worst i have venustraphobia or caligynecophobia(fear of beautiful women) it sucks, my heartbeat just beat fast and im on my way to become anxious if i met gorgesou ladies or gorgeuos nursing students beside me. damn! i wish i know all the girls secrets, but you know what the guy was right on these forum when he said you can date whoever, whatever, whenever by the time we graduate nursing so just befriend junior first or your bestfriend **** to survive on the journey to nursing school. ya know what i mean boy!

My advise would be to be yourself, and remain unassuming. To put it bluntly, the numbers are on your side in a nursing environment. I would think women would be turned off by the typical 'dear hunter' approach.

I know personally, I got into nursing because I was laid off from a job that I had been on for years. I wanted to get into x-ray but the waiting lists were too long. Everytime I looked in the paper for jobs there were a million nursing positions open and I needed to go to work. I was one of three males in my nursing class. I just went to class, mind-ed? my own business, cracked a well-timed, joke every now and then (there's a lot of opportunity for humor in the nursing field and hospital setting) and eventually there was a very attractive student that seemed to really like me. I was separated at the time and one thing led to another and I ended up having a relationship with her. We eventually parted ways due to external factors but I don't regret our relationship.

Of course if that don't work you can always use the dumb- male-who-hasn't-been-inside-of-a-hospital-since-he-was-born approach. Some of the students will gravitate to this and help you every chance they get.............I know, I know, ........ I'm terrible.
