Time to say goodby

It has been fun, but I must say good bye. As I sit here with my swollen legs and hands, no prospects for work I realize that nursing must be one of the coldest professions left on the planet. To all those self rightious SOB's you will be glad to know that you have ignored one of your own's call for help, you have helped to put a fellow nurse into the poverty lines, or should I say the gutter. I think it is sad when a nurse has to choose between begging, stealing or suicide. One last question, which would you choose? My only crime being what? I am still asking that. Maybe I am stupid. oh well

Re: Time to say goodby

I'd just say sorry you feel that way but I also say you have to help yourself sometimes and others can't solve your problems for you. I already told you what I'd do but you didn't like that answer but her it is again I'd do whatever I had to to feed my family even if it was just working at McD's or a store even if nursing is what I wanted to do I'd do what I had to..answer phones, type, deliver newspapers... yes I've done them all I cut coupons there are lots out there for free items if you know where to look, turn off things that aren't needed like cable, cut out extras. I don't know why you can't get a job you don't answer anything directly just that nothing is your fault but someboyd elses and all of the co-workders are out to get you. Maybe a job counselor and if you really were put out of work how about legal aid?

Re: Time to say goodby

I wish I was man enough to take that type of physical pain, but I am notand for what to buy a hamburg. today I went out and tried to get some exercise a woman at least 20 years older then me went around the pond 5 times I couldn't even make it half way. No but it sure would be nice to know where I should go to lay down and die, and I am sure you don't want to hear that. I am also sure that you would not be able to handle the truth. That in this wonderful country of ours that we actually throw, sick disabled people out on the streets. Laugh and them and tell them to get a job at Mc D's. HaHA HA I'll do it for you. 25 years of nursing and I am going to die on the streets, or maybe drop dead at McD's from a MI. HA HA. Legal Aide Ha Ha, there is some bazarre reason that this is going on. Either you are ice cold or clueless. May be thats my fault, if you have never felt this type of physical pain you wouldn't understand. This is what all those wonderful years of working has done. lol, and they still want me to continue the physical abuse on myself, lol I guess you would work at a job that you know would put you in a wheel chair, I don't believe you. I am sorry I am sure you don't know the whole story. I don't have cable, I don't go out. My kids are grown.

Did you ever think of being a PBX operator at a hospital?

Re: Time to say goodby

no I guess I don't know the whole story and guess that's not my (our) fault. You come and ask what you can do to make money you say it hurts to sit or to stand you say that people are out to get you but don't say how. You were given suggestions but none of them were good ideas. And yes I would do whatever it took. Pain is individual so no I don't know what you have but then you don't know what I have either and what mine might be but I keep going ...how about limping around on a broken foot for 6 weeks before even getting an x-ray. Or my uncle who's been on crutches since he was 3 years old and still working having a torn shoulder and just getting a motorized wheelchair this year (at 60years old)an accountant for a major city electric company. Or another uncle who was an eye doc until 2 years ago when his vehicle flipped on ice and is now an incomplete quad with no movement to his legs and gross movement to his arms in a w/c can't do his doctor thing but is still active in civic activities, or my brother who's been on workman's comp for a year after falling from a ladder (at a theater) and has a master's degree but it's in theater design and just now getting back to work or my husband who was in the AF for 20 years then got out and had some major problems that finally have mostly resolved but worked in computers then became a stay at home dad (luckily) that produced my 6 year old that instead of doing kindergarten work does 2nd and 3rd grade work because of the work daddy did with him at home. ...no I don't know anyone else's pain but I also know sometimes you have to help yourself however you can. Maybe some counseling or a job placement thing if you really want to work. Now I'm done on the subject.

Re: Time to say goodby

I'm glad your done. I am well aware of other peoples problems, maybe I focused too much on others instead of my own. but please tell me if you know anyone of them that have done it on their own. I would like to know. because all I am running into is people that want to take advantage. I got called into work when I was still on cruthches with a fresh TKR. I have been looking for work for a year now. Since I am alone I know that being in a wheel chair would only make things worse. Are you a real nurse? If you are then does what you learned only apply to pts. in a hospital? I may have bladder cancer
