  | Re: tell me how influenza is affecting your life The Avian Flu is definitely a scary thought, especially since Tamiflu and the other first line flu meds so far haven't touched it. It has been showing up in Asia for more than two years, more recently Iraq, Turkey and now West Africa in Nigeria. I think it is just a matter of time before we have a major outbreak of the bird flu. Once that happens, God help us all. Could happen tomorrow, could happen a hundred years from now. I'm hoping it's later, rather than sooner. Maybe then we'll have something to throw at it.
