| Hi everyone, I'd be grateful for any help or suggestions anyone has. My mom graduated from the Presbyterian School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC in the late 1950s, after a battle with tuberculosis that meant she had to re-do her first year of training... she perservered, and was awarded the school's Best Bedside Manner pin (a Florence Nightengale lamp pin). She was so proud of that! She's retired now, but a couple of years before she retired, she somehow lost the pin. It really upset her. She hasn't mentioned it lately, but I know she'd be thrilled if I could somehow find a replacement. My dilemma is that the RN training program at Presbyterian Hospital has now been absorbed into one of the local colleges, Queens University -- turned into a BSN, MSN, etc. I don't know if they even give that award anymore, and I don't know that there's anyone currently there who would even know what I was talking about if I asked. I'm frankly afraid to, for fear of just being blown off or ignored. So my question to you all is, does anyone know where I might find a small gold lapel pin shaped like Florence Nightengale's lamp? Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Sincerely, Laura Haywood-Cory |
