Re: Q, what are the new grad salaries in your area I am living in orlando fl at this time. I know for a fact that NO HOSPITAL is paying 110,000 a year. I made 87,000 last year.BUT I worked pool with no benefits and worked about 50-60 hours a week . So I don't know who you got your info from, but florida isn't paying 110,000 .......

Re: Q, what are the new grad salaries in your area I graduated in May, 2004, and didn't have to start out in med/surg- I started in pediatrics, where I still am. I live in Green Bay, WI, and my starting new grad pay was $22.44/hr. plus benifits.

Re: Q, what are the new grad salaries in your area Well i live in DeLand FL its about 25 miles from Daytona and around 50 miles from Orlando and i also know for a fact that no hospital is paying a yrly salary of 110,000 a yr. At my local hospital in Deland they start new grads out at 18.50. Which isnt bad cause its only like 15 minutes away from my house. But if you go and work at a specialty hosptial in Orlando your likely to make more an hour. But personally i would rather be local cause my children are small that way if they are sick i can get to them faster. Oh yeah that 18.50 and hour doesnt include weekend differential and regular shift differential so it works out to be pretty good if you ask me. Hey im not working right now im in the nursing program so when im done i will have gone from 0$ to 18.50 or more an hour which is great if you ask me. Hey thats 18.50 more an hour then i was makin. LOL It was nice to hear what new grads are making around the states. The cost of living is high here housing is getting ridiculous i dont know how anybody can afford to buy here anymore. ITs crazy ok well talk to ya later. Juairefamily

Re: Q, what are the new grad salaries in your area Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) Minnesota -- new grads start around $25/hr but that does not include eve/noc shift differentials, overtime or other benefits like parking, meal discounts, uniform assistance, tuition reimbursement or school loan re-payment etc. It gets cold here, but it's a great place to work! --p
