the men i have worked with look like horrible. they don't iron their uniforms and have those ucky white t-shirts showing under their uniform tops. also i am sick of them dressing like an emt or paramedic. they look unprofessional with wrinkled uniforms.

and why did we as females allow men into our chosen field. i have yet to work with a male nurse who doesn't try to dominate a conversation with their so called know how in treating patients. Who taught them to be so arrogant.

we sure messed up a great profession with men.

I've seen a lot of nasty looking women come to work wearing old scrubs, messy stringy hair, body odor, halitosis, gaudy jewelry, cheap perfume, talking trash the whole shift. This is not a gender dominated problem. It seems to me that you are possibly taking it that way because of a general dislike towards men. Men entering the nursing profession have had nothing but a positive effect on the the profession as a whole. I'm a damn hard worker in my unit and I put up with a lot of arrogant women on a daily basis, but I just keep my mouth shut and keep on smiling. There are a lot of man-haters out there. I think you are just another one of them. Talk about arrogance! Look at your own posting!

Re: Put male nurses in panties!?

I will continue to wear white t-shirts under my tops (and I don't even have chest hair) and knee high sock (not up to my knees though) and white boxer briefs. NO PANTIES for me. Sounds to me that his wife was trying to humilate him or just make him look like an idiot. Didn't read all the posts, but the ones I did read are funny. That guy has some issues to go along with that dress code.....J

Boy did I touch a nerve. I still maintain that men need to wash their uniforms and iron them. (i do) Also get rid of the nasty white t shirts. I'd rather see hair than a grimy t shirt. Also you women out there stand up to these arrogant men. he was just as arrogant as I was if you read your reply.

Re: Put male nurses in panties!?

Hi folks,

I was kind of outraged when I read this article so I looked to see who would actually publish something this silly. So I traced back the origin of this article. It is from a magazine called "Petticoated dicipline monthly". Here is their um, I dunno, "mission statement". Explains pretty much everything....

"Petticoat Discipline Monthly is a journal for mothers, wives, sisters, and aunts charged with the domestic, or school, care and upbringing of naughty boys of all ages."

"Nanny Susan believes, after long experience, that the most effective and loving way of dealing with the problems of male conceit and disobedience is strictly applied petticoating and nursery discipline. This monthly magazine will offer guidance from Nanny Susan, who will answer questions from readers concerning how to treat those immature and babyish sons, husbands, nephews, brothers, and so on whom they have under their control. "

Re: Put male nurses in panties!?

I agree that all nurses need to maintain a presentable appearance, but asking a man to wear women's panties is beyond ridiculous. Sounds like a magazine for feminists. Should female doctors be asked to go braless and wear boxers?

the article came from some sexual fetish site. I'm still amazed that something posted as a joke to see if people would get riled up is still going strong this long. This thread has been viewed like 70,000 times. CRAZY!

Re: Put male nurses in panties!?

Hi all. First post.

Ironic, is it not, that feminists are the ones acting like neanderthals this time?

I got the usual "Good morning, ladies... and gentleman" in nursing school, and had to deal with the feminine chatter just like everyone else. It really doesn't bother me. That's the way it is. Can we change that? I don't know- I have my doubts. But I think that the whole men wearing panties thing is just the ranting of a tired old cow who has her own issues. She's probably dead now from a self-inflicted envenomation.

Re: Put male nurses in panties!?

Ok...just a comment. I have worked with some very good looking Male urses and CNA's. The good looking ones always seem to take the time to look even better. The not so good looking ones just don't care.

The two hotties I am thinking of both wore stretchy form fitting shirts under their scrub tops and no fly scrub pants dark enough that you could not see through them. Top and pant usually matched. They both wore shades when coming on and going off shift.

I tell you what, those guys did more for the healing process of certain little old ladies than any guy in women's panties! We couldn't get them to take a shower unless these guys were on shift!

ok folks,

as a nursing student and E.R. Tech for the past 6 years; being the 3rd generation of Nurses. I totally agree that Nurses (male and female) have gotten severly sloppy over the years. But I have to say I'd rather see a man in unisex scrub pants and a plain t-shirt to see a woman in a lowwww cut tank top with her c-section scars popping in between her short shirt and her rolled down scrub pants, that just so happens to reveal her THONG strings. If you want to talk about uniform reform work on the women first. I will be the first to admit if you wear scrubs they should look clean and neat, a good ironing once in a while will keep good seams, and yes I do wear TED socks (to the knee only) but it will be a cold day in **** before I wear womens underwear. Also If anyone is that concerned over a y shape seam... you're a perv. I also agree that the uniform companies are very female oriented. The only company that I know of that makes uniforms just for men is Landau and I am not that impressed, the pants never stay up and the jacket cuffs make great tuniquets. Just a thought any body got some ideas about starting their own uniform company for guys, I'll be your first customer. jslater@wyan.org
