| Online BSN Program I know this topic has been discussed on this forum before and I have searched for the threads without success. I am looking for information on any online BSN Programs. I am trying to move up in my nursing career and the easiest way for me would be to go to an online school. Naturally money is a consideration, but I know I have to pay to learn. Thanks in advance for everyones attention to this post. |

| Re: Online BSN Program Both Phoenix, a for-profit school and Excelsior, the degree isn't recognized by the State of California have their problems. You are right an advanced education will get you more job security and on average about $20,000 more a year, according to published research. Plus you can teach. I have a friend who teaches twice a week and makes about 4K a month. Here's a great resource that provides school summaries rated by nurses who've actually been to the schools. LPN BSN Online | RN BSN Online In my opinion, I'd look for schools with the following criteria: * Be awarded college credit for your hard earned LPN or RN experiene * Earn a BSN degree in as little as 30 to 40 credit hours * Attend class 24/7, no classrooms, local clinicals, no clinical testing * Get the highest university accreditation available - employers and other schools may not recognize a lower accredited degree * Get federal grants, federal loans, and additional scholarships when attending a univeristy with the highest accreditation * Pass your NCLEX the first time, immediately upon graduation * Attend a non-profit institution where the better trained teachers and nursing programs exist * Be granted college credit for CLEP exams and from transfer units * Earn your degree with accelerated degree options * Obtain the same degree as the on-campus nursing program * Pay much less for an online degree than for an on-campus degree LPN BSN Online | RN BSN Online BTW - CLEP exams are honored by 2,400 colleges, and the Military. You can earn college credit by passing an exam. The exams cost about $60. Studying for them isn't that hard. Here's a resource: CLEP Study Guide |

| Re: Online BSN Program Hi! I was actually on the phone with Phoenix the other day, and the rep just ended up talking about himself the whole time, lol. I have also been looking into RN-BSN online degrees. My next search is to Drexel, which has a nursing program online. I'll let you know how it goes! |
