    Question Nyc

I am trying to get a travel assignment in NYC and have been told by one of the hospitals that I do not have enough experience. I have been a nurse for three years and a traveller for 9 mos. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how much experience do you need???

Yes, I had that happen too, but I took it as a positive.
Because NYC has alot of BIG TIME Specialty needs that someone of my background never experienced. Take it as a blessing in disguise.

    What is your specialty?

Yeah, I would take it as a blessing, too- NYC is notorious for having the WORST nurse/patient ratios, to the point where it's just not safe- think DOUBLE the normal ratio you're used to. For example, the national average ratio for ER is 1:4, in NYC the average ER ratio is 1:7 or 1:8- that is just insane, and definitely not safe! You couldn't pay me enough to work in NYC....

Which hospital in NYC? Maybe your background just did not fit.
Don't worry about it there will be other opportunities.
