    Nursing schools in Miami area.

    Hi Y'all,

My girlfriend wants to go back to school to get her RN. She was planning on going to Miami-Dade but they are a major pain in the butt. Most of the counselors she has dealt with are not too bright. She has an AS from a public technical school in WI. MD will accept almost none of her transfer credits, and they want her to take math prerequisites to take chemistry and microbiology. She already took those classes. She has a science degree with a 3.78 GPA. This is ridiculous. Anyone know of an affordable alternative in Miami without her having to enter a Bachelors program?

Al, I hope this helps: http://www.ultimatenurse.com/forum/f...78/#post138944

I have been trying to list the approved schools, and hopefully this will provide some sort of help.

Thanks for the help. She will be going to Miami-Dade College in a few weeks. I have heard that the nursing program is pretty good. But I have to tell you, I have never seen a bigger collection of incompetent idiots than the financial aid and admissions people at MDC. How anyone there keeps their job escapes me. It is so frustrating. It's like trying to teach chemistry to a three year old.
