Onetraveler, you have some good points there. Up here, quite a few of the schools want the Nursing students to have their CNA cert. before starting Clinicals. Much of it has to do with basic skills needed before you hit the floor.

In the nearly 20 years I have been a nurse, I have heard many say 'I wish I knew what I was getting into!' and they had gone straight into nursing without being an Aide. Their reasoning? They didn't want to 'wipe butts'....but don't w all do that at one time or another?

Again, the steps of CNA-LPN-RN IS a good way to go.
