I'm currently working on a paper for a Women's Health and Healing class at the University of Iowa. I'm looking for some stories of descrimination against nurses. Specifically, I'm looking for sexual discrimination against female nurses. I'll actually take an sorts of stories anyone has to share about the struggles of female nurses!!!

I can give you a quick story. One patient was a 17 year old that was hit by a car. He was in the ICU for months. His mother was suing the man that hit him and was very angry at everyone. In our ICU, she demanded that only the male nurses care for her son because she thought they were "smarter". She also demaded one on one nursing care which created staffing issues. To make a long story short, our nurse manager ended up drawing the line after about a week or so because she was sexist. The kid made it out to rehab fine, and the wife ended up being grateful to all of us. But we never forgot her insult to us females!
