I have wracked my brain and come up short trying to squeeze out ideas of good CQI projects to do in our busy medical ICU. The problem is that we have 5 ICUs in our hospital and there have been many housewide initiatives for safety, etc. and anything interesting. Recently our whole diabetes protocol has undergone complete renovation. So..knowing that basically our governance committees have been very quiet at our unit level, we have not had previous projects worth listing here. Anything I was able to start as a project got dropped due need for housewide involvement such as IV labelling compliance, pressure sore incidence, etc. What I am in search of is interesting CQI ideas for a busy medical ICU with probably all of the same problems as any typical ICU so that we can do something to get busy at the unit level. Any ideas out there? I really need help here. My boss is antsy for us to get busy!
