Richardson's Health Care has bonus for Flordia at present. Thought about going myself. Do not know as far as license. Pay is somewhat lower there.
I am a male er nurse currently working on the Navajo reservation in Arizona. I would like to maybe go to Florida for my next assignment, but I hear that it takes 3 months to get a license there, and that the pay is low. A nurse from Florida, however, disputes these claims. Can anyone advise me as to these questions, as well as a good company to travel to Florida with?

As long as they don't cancel you the week before your contract is up and therefore you lose the bonus.

Hey Wandering Rn, does that really happen? What can you tell me about Richardson's Health Care? I am still so green as I have only had one assignment and messed up on my choice of Companies then. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
It sure does...But I'll give you a hint..FLA is expediting the license now because of Frances. Usually takes upwards of 6 months.. So contact Bridge Staffing. They will help you..I hope you don't mind $27/hour...What's your speciality anyway????

I personally don't like FLA... Note I said personally so I don't follow it that much.. Good luck..
I am a ICU nurse. I can do most anything. I am presently working in Tenn. in a stepdown ASC/tele unit. Thanks for the advise. It is so helpful to get advise from someone that knows there stuff. Thanks again.
Where is Richardson's Health Care?
the only thing i can say about working in florida i learned from a nurse who lived there most of her life
you might only make $27/hr, but no state/local income tax taken out...
thanks to all the major atttractions!!!
I work in Fla, I'm a RN at the Moffitt Cancer Ctr. and for you being an ICU nurse, you would probably make $31. It's a great place to work. Check into it. Fla is a great state esp. if you are in a committed relationship with kids.
Up to date:
2004 Jan
L & D
24.00 /hr in FLORIDA
plus night shift / call time / weekend pay
( 4 nights FRI<SAT, FRI<SAT = 1,400 take home
but the cost of living is high.
Beware!
They feel of no state tax and nice weather accounts for low pay for RN.
No thanks.
