| Re: Imagine!!/more to ponder I had an aide who confided in me yesterday, that she went into the room and closed the door and was quite verbally {firm?}with Brenda. She felt when Brenda phases out after short interactions she was doing it on purpose. She told her she had to fight for her life back and show us something. That people would be so nice to her they would nice her to death. They would do everything for her and not ask her to do anything for herself. Someone else would raise her kids, and if she didn't want that she better start fighting for them now. She told Brenda that no one else would be as good for her kids as she would. She has me thinking. I would never have said those things and I think it borders on cruelty. I told the aide not to be that firm with her again. But would I be the one who would nice her to death? Is that possible? I believe praise and reward is far more effective. I will continue that because my life has made me that way. But... Just more food for thought. Anyone share their thoughts with me on this.... |
