| Re: Illegal use of some ones nursing license nursing license this is going on, I am in a compact state and I just discovered that a nurse can work in any one of 20 states and no one checks their license they do not have to report to the board that they are even practicing in that state. |

| Super Moderator | Re: Illegal use of some ones nursing license So what does that have to do with companies illegally using other peoples licenses? Sounds like you're talking about some type of identity theft. Andrew Lopez, RN http://www.4nursing.com |

| Re: Illegal use of some ones nursing license I just know that it is going on and I was hoping some one else was more knowledgeable about it that could give some tips on how to stop it. What I am talking about is that they hire an RN then have them work in a lower level and some one else is playing the RN part. Probably not even nurses. It gets more bazzar than that. |

| Re: Illegal use of some ones nursing license Could you pls. give all the details you can? Hard to figure out what U R talking about. For example what state does this type of thing take place in? From what I know RN's practice under the nursing practice act. An RN is not responsible for someone who is practicing nursing whithout a license. VA hospitals accept nursing licenses from other states. I am not aware of RN's having to inform the BRN where they are practicing nursing or where they work. Just out of curiosity are you an RN? |

| Re: Illegal use of some ones nursing license Yes I am an RN I live in a compact state and companies are using peoples nursing Licenses. I guess this is why they can get away with it. I don't want to go into too much detail here, sorry just looking for some one else that is aware of this to exchange info. |

| Super Moderator | Re: Illegal use of some ones nursing license If you know of someone practicing nursing under someone elses license, a phone call and complaint to the State Board of Nursing will have that person thrown in jail and the company that provided them with the "borrowed" license sanctioned. It's not a difficult situation to blow the whistle on. To sit back and do nothing isn't very ethical. Anonymous tips with appropriate details are all it takes. | Re: Illegal use of some ones nursing license never heard of this happening. I also live in a compact state and never heard of this. Don't let it concern you too much though unless it directly affects you. My theory is that, if it doesn't affect me or bring harm to anyone around me, leave it alone. However, if you find more info on this, I'd be interested in knowing what state and institution it is for future reference. |
