Hello, I am a student who is about to enter an LPN and I have already taken the HESI test and already payed my enrollment fee. The school I will be attending says that they are NLN accredited but long story short, I found out the they are not at the moment. They were dropped from accreditation in Oct 2006 because they are an "umbrella" school & basically the NLNAC says that every school has to be accredited on their own now. They have promised that the school will be accredited because it follows the same procedures as the school that they were dropped from however they cannot give me a specific date becasue of legal matters. I am concerned because I would love to go on and complete my MSN but if I attend an unaccredited school then I will not have that option. The school is also around $20,000 a yr and that is too much money to spend on a school that is not NLN accredited. If it helps the school is Bohecker College in Ohio and they were accredited from 1922-2006 as an umbrella school but I dont know what to do becasue they are not now? I would greatly appreciate all & any advice... Can anyone please help?

I can't really offer any advice except looking to see if you can transfer to another accredited program ASAP using the HESI score you already have. And if you do, be sure to request a refund of your enrollment fee based on being given incorrect information.

Thanks pipingmad! I actually met a nurse/ prof. who teaches at Bohecker in a hospital & I found out that the reason they are not accredited yet is because they have not had a graduating class yet... So when they do this month everything should be fine. At least I hope so...

I too will be attending boheckers lpn program in october. Did you enroll at boheckers in Ravenna ,Cleveland ,or Cincinatti?
