| HESI EXIT Exam Poll (Please Respond) I am trying to assemble a list of nursing schools that do "not" use the HESI exit exam in their program. I am posting on a few sites for the best response. I am also interested in schools that use the HESI exit exam, but only use the test score as "PART" of the final grade and to point out strengths and weaknesses to their students before they proceed to the State NCLEX exam. Simply put...I am searching for all schools that either do "not" use the HESI Exit Exam, or schools that do not use the HESI exit exam to "fail" and preclude advancement to the State Boards. (Only used as a learning remediation tool)...... If you could please list; What school and year graduated and if your school uses the test only as part of your final grade to point out strengths and weaknesses. I've heard this site is great for collecting data, hoping for a many responses....Thanks in advance to all who reply...... |

| I went to the Huron School of Nursing in East Cleveland, Ohio. It was a diploma school and I graduated 2003. We had to take the HESI test when we entered out senior year of nursing school. The test did not count toward your grade but you were expected to get an 80% or better and if you did not achieve that score you had to make a remediation course. Then when you were in your final semester of nursing you had to take the HESI exam again and this test counted towards your final grade. So it could make or break you. If you were boarder line with your test grades and flunked the HESI you did not pass or graduate. Thank goodness my class that situation did not occur everyone did ok and passed nursing school.
