There are lots of good and great Puget Sound hospitals but you need to decide if you want to travel to get to them if you want to live on the Port Townsend side of the Sound. The ferries can take up to 45 min to an hour to get across the water and that is only with walk on. If it is rush hour and you want to drive, yikes!
I worked at Harborview in Seattle which was the only trauma level one for four states (Alaska, Montana, Idaho and Washington) so we saw the results of care from Jefferson General in Port Townsend (they had ortho md only certain days so many ortho injuries had to be airlifted to Harborview, we are talking simple fractures) and then Harrison in Bremerton (they were well known for their head bleeds).
As for hospitals in Seattle. There is the famous Pill Hill were there are are Virgina Mason, First Hill Swedish, Cherry Hill Swedish and Harborview all with in blocks of each other. Each hospital has their pros and cons. Harborview is the only state hospital and the rest are private hospital.
I hope this helps.
