Re: Hellooooooooooo

I am new to nursing and am looking for some advice from more experienced nurses. I currently work on a med-surg floor, but would like to work in L&D. Within the next year or so I would like to try traveling for a short time. Is it better to travel in a speciality area or in med-surg. Also, I am very dissatisified with my hospital because there never seems to be enough help -- our DON refuses to come in and help when we are short-handed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Re: Hellooooooooooo

I've never seen a DON come in to help. I have seen nurse managers in staffing at all of the hospitals where I work some more then others. House supervisors have helped at night in a pinch answering lights and things.
