    Red face Hand off communication

We started to use the nurse to nurse reports at the bedside. Initially there was some disgruntled staff, didn't like change. Anyway, do you use this in your facility? If so how was it implemented and have you seen improvement in patient safety?

One place I worked, we would give a more detailed report at the nurse's station and continued at the bedside, especially if the doctor had not yet talked with patients about issues/concerns first, or if the room was semi-private.

    Cool

We did bedside walk-through at one facility. I saw some use to it because you might see something to ask about right then and there. I did not like that both nurses had to come early, leave late, clock out at proper time, so some of this extra time was non compensated.

We'd use the Daily Census sheet. I use one color hi-lighter for Accuchecks.... Anyone on 72 hour charting, we'd go 1a, 1b,1c for the first 24 hours, 2a 2b 2c for the 2nd.... Report given in the nursing station.
