Getting your BSN over the internet

I am about ready to graduate from a RN program. I am wanting to go for my BSN but I want to do it at my own pace. Does anyone have any experience getting their BSN over the internet?

Re: Getting your BSN over the internet

Hello MVT,

Welcome to nursing.

I'd be very careful about programs that claim you can get a BSN over the internet. Many scams have been developed to take advantage of people just like you.

I'd go to http://www.allnursingschools.com and look at the courses listed there.

Almost all courses (Excelsior is one of the largest) have some type of clinical component that you'll have to do in person. Be wary of any that claim to be 100% internet based.

Re: Getting your BSN over the internet

I am in a online BSN program right now. I love online classes. I took one at our Community college. Then jumped into the RN to BSN program at University of Phoenix. It is great! If you are self motivated, you can do well. It serves my purpose of getting a higher degree and keeping my schedule flexible enough to have a life. (BTW... that "life" is driving my teenagers around.) I did a lot of research before deciding, I suggest you do the same. I guess, I was "swayed" by the fact that Florida now has virtual school for middle and High school kids. To me... That points toward what the future will bring. Maybe I will teach someday.
