Usually, we hear about the stress of floor nurses, but I do hear you about the stress of the job. Feel free to 'de-stress' at any time.![]()
Hello to everyone, I am new to this. I have been in the nursing field for 37 years and an RN for the last 25 years. I am finishing my BSN in July '09 and will start on my MSN in education in Spring of '10. I had been working on my BS degree for sometime and last September I went full-time into the last year of the nursing program. WHAT AN EYEOPENER!!! This has been the most overwhelming thing I have ever done. This is an on-line course.
I am working full-time as a nursing supervisor, for now, at a hospital on the MS Gulf Coast. Critical care is my passion and had worked as an assistant nurse manager in our critical care area for 7 years; but, after Hurricane Katrina, the stress was too much. I transferred to the CHF clinic at that time. It was a good change but was not very challenging. 1 1/2 years ago, I transferred to the nursing supervisor job at our hospital. Talk about stress. This is not what I want to be doing until I retire. I like education and would love a job working in our education department. I am doing my practicum with our nurse educator at the hospital and love it.
Thanks for listening.
