| Re: Did I fail NCLEX for the 2nd time? It can be both. I took my LVN-NCLEX in 2002 and got 75 questions that I felt were getting harder and harder, I passed. But it could have also meant that I was getting most of the answers wrong. It could be both ways, a friend of mine told me she got 83 and failed it, a girl got 200+ questions and passed it. There is no way to know. But good luck! |

| Re: Did I fail NCLEX for the 2nd time? AND....I found the Saunders review book the best, I even used it for my RN-NCLEX. Lippincott was a 5/10 (It was a loaner). But the review books are just that, for review, not to learn it all, it's just a way to quickly remind you of what you already know. You must have basic nursing knowledge to pass the NCLEX, and no matter how many review books you buy if you don't have it you might not pass. Either way, I HOPE YOU PASS. |

| aKa MagRedC5 | Re: Did I fail NCLEX for the 2nd time? OMG, on my first [and only] attempt I had well over 100 questions. The specific number of questions on the NCLEX I don't remember. Three days later I called the BNE of TX to find out my renewal date, which if I have a renewal date meant I passed, and I did! Some folks don't take mulitple choice test well, but IMHO gives no true indication of a person's potential as a nurse.

1. The urban legend is if the test stops at 75, you passed. However, I have heard some failed w/75 questions. 2. If, the degree of difficulty increases with each question, then the test taker is doing well. IMHO, this is true based on how these type of exams are designed [just like the GRE]. BTW, I've been told that some exams are set-up to go the distance no matter how well the test taker does. This is some kind of test pilot to determine the validity of some questions that may be asked in future NCLEX exams. IMHO, this is NOT fair D/T the stress it causes the indiviual. I remember having greater and greater difficulty of degree type of questions. However, I began to doubt my success after the questions kept coming, and coming like some kind of energizer bunny had control the computer, LOL.
