    Hello Kendall,

You'll find we use a lot of abbreviations, acronyms, etc. These websites help explain them:

Making Sense of Alphabet Soup Nursing initials explained, Resourcenurse.com:"Ever wonder what a colleague's initials meant when reading a chart or squinting at their name badge? Select the first letter of the initial below."

Nursing Acronyms, American Society of Post Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN):

    Degrees And Professional Qualifications:

Initials ~ Credentials ~ Abbreviations found on medical resumes / CV's, National Nurse Search:"If you do not see your specific title listed please submit credential to be added to the list. Include full spelling, the abbreviation, and which country this particular title is used. Thank you for your help!"

I like F.O.R.D. this pertained to me in my younger days.
(Found On Road Drunk). At this point I would only research the difference in RN and LPN. Contact local schools that have programs and ask them for info. The length of schooling differs. Also, what the 2 can do differs from state to state and from institution to institution.

We use D.O.B. alot where I now work.....stands for "dead in bed". Sick but true.... Pertains to patients whose "loving" families just won't let go.
