Can\'t get in to Nursing School, help!!

Hi, I am a 28yr old male from Queens NY. I applied to StonyBrook, New Rochelle, and University of Miami. I was unable to get into any of these schools. I have a BA in Psych and was trying to get into a BS program anywhere from a a year(accelerated) to 2yr program. Now I don't now what to do. I know there's always next year but I want to get this over with and get my life started. I didn't have a good undergrad gpa(2.3), but since returning to take prereqs I have a 3.6(I have matured) Does anyone out there have any advice as I really want to achieve a BS in Nursing asap. Thank you for your time.

Hello,

You'll find that many schools have waiting lists and a shortage of nursing faculty to teach student nurses.

My advice would be to apply to as many schools as feasible and get on their waiting lists as soon as possible.

You can find a comprehensive list of schools at http://www.allnursingschools.com and http://www.4nursingschools.com

Push comes to shove you may need to think about an LPN program with an RN bridge.

Wish you luck!

why are you not going into psych, a masters in psych could lead you to private practice. Why nursing?
