Breast Cancer Patient Protection

take a look at this bill before congress - sign the petition if you agree.
H.R. 1691: Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act of 2009 (GovTrack.us)

Of course all this will be pointless if Obama care passes since most breast cancer patients won't get surgery anyway - just end of life counseling - food for thought!

Actually page 430 of the current bill being debated has specific language referring to the "Secretary" having the power to make decisions to continue or limit care.

Obama himself has stated over and over again (you can find it on U-tube.) That it is wasteful to do procedures and treatments that may not work when one can just take a pain pill.

He has also stated that, although he has been briefed on the bills content, he has not actually read it and doesn't know specifically what's in it.

I've actually read the bill - there are good things in it and there are frightening things in it. Everybody has a right to their opinion but should sit down and read the bill before commenting about what is or is not in the bill.

Re: Breast Cancer Patient Protection

Do you really think the AMA hasn't examined the bill with a microscope and has lobbyists ready to shred it to pieces with ammendments or kill it outright?

When you're talking about a doctor's (and pharmaceutical companies) bread and butter (procedures, treatments, drugs) it will take more than a bill to take that money out of their pockets.

They will fight tooth and nail to protect their financial interests (in the name of patient choice of course).
