Proud Grancama!
ENA & I belong to STN as well. I feel they offer me information on topics that may & do impact my practice. Having said that I don't always agree with their view but I am still getiing more info than if I heard nothing at all.

I don't have money to be paying dues to any organization, especially when I'm not working.
Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society, ENA (CFRN), about to study for the CNRN, and in a year will be a part of the AANP if all goes well. I am also directly involved in several EMS organizations (NAEMT, Disaster Response Team, NREMT, etc).
When I was working on my associate's in nursing--I was in Phi Theta Kappa. I think the honor societies are definately worth it as they afford you new and exciting opportunities. For instance, when I was in Phi Theta Kappa, we got to travel to Plains, Georgia and sit in a Sunday school class taught by no other than former President of the United States Jimmy Carter.
